This is an interesting angle to me as well. I tend to equate "easily measured" with scientism or positivism. I can see it's relationship with NC but I lean toward highlighting how it relates to a discomfort with uncertainty and unknowability. We like "easily measured" things because they give us something to anchor to. If we can't anchor to God or the "moral law within," than at least we can have abstract reason or positively identified measurement that are certain fact.
